The ASPIRE Program

Developing Your Principal Pipeline

ASPIRE is a program developed for teacher leaders who aspire to be assistant principals. It uses experiential learning methods to develop the real-world skills necessary for effective school leadership.   The program focuses on instructional leadership and the skills and knowledge needed to lead instructional improvement. Participants complete the Gallup’s CliftonStrengths online assessment. According to the Gallup website, research proves that people succeed when they focus on what they do best. When they identify their talents and develop them into strengths, people are more productive, perform better, and more engaged.   In order to connect theory and practice, each participant works collaboratively with his or her principal to identify an area of need connected to the ASPIRE curriculum. The ASPIRE participant develops an action plan including appropriate professional learning, follow up and monitoring.
