Advanced Principal Training

Advanced Principal Training

What is the program’s goal?

This advanced training program aims to develop school leaders who are effective in dramatically improving under-performing secondary schools.

How will the goal be achieved?

The first cohort will run from April through December 2010. A commitment of three days a month (on-site/off-site/online) is expected of the participants.
The program curriculum focuses on four major units:

  • Leading Change
  • Using Data to Improve Instruction
  • Building a Productive School Culture
  • Developing Instructional Capacity
In addition, the participants will take part in non-curricular program activities:
  • Coaching – an experienced leader will be available to provide one-on-one instruction and support for participants one day each month.
  • Site Visits – each component will include field-based experiences such as visits to model schools.

Why participate?

  • Participants will receive a stipend, clock hours, and a certificate of completion.
  • Better schools will mean a better future for thousands of children in Delaware.
