Alison Travers, MPA, serves as the Program Manager for the University of Delaware “PPP”: Principal Preparation Program, an Alternative Route to Principal Certification in the State of Delaware. Since 2015, the program has graduated twenty-five certified school leaders.
She is also the coordinator of a national leadership initiative in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the NASSP School Leaders Academy™.
Alison manages DASL’s 21st Century Community Learning extra time programs at 5 elementary schools in the State of Delaware. Alison also supports DASL’s grant writing and budget management efforts. She coordinates statewide events, including the Leadership Learning Series and the Policy & Practice Institute: Delaware’s Conference on Public Education, an annual statewide conference for education leaders in Delaware.
Alison obtained a Project Management Certificate in May 2012. While earning a Masters of Public Administration degree with a focus on Education Policy (2010), Alison was employed as a graduate research assistant for DASL from 2008-2010. As an assistant, she assisted with research and planning for several DASL projects that support school leader development including the Distributed Leadership Project and the NASSP Developmental Assessment Center.
She obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 2007, and completed a year of public service with Public Allies, an AmeriCorps program. Alison’s professional “why” is: Leadership Matters!
