Dr. Jackie Wilson, DASL Director, facilitates working groups with urban educational leaders engaged in principal pipeline and principal supervisor initiatives. The work focuses on supporting districts as they implement pipeline programs that include: leadership standards (PSEL Site), quality preparation programs, selective hiring, coaching and mentoring, professional development and performance evaluation.

DASL Director, Dr. Jackie Wilson, served on the committee to develop the Professional Standards for Education Leadership (PSEL 15). She serves on a panel with representatives from UCEA, Michelle Young, NAESP, Deb Tyler, and NASSP, Bev Hutton regarding the alignment of the standards to state policy. Delaware was the first state to adopt the standards and is currently aligning all professional development, pre-service preparation programs, and the Delaware Performance Appraisal System to the revised standards.
The Delaware Academy for School Leadership is a strategic partner to the National Association for Secondary School Principals. The collaboration has resulted in a curriculum and training program that can be provided to teams of Principals. Assistant Principals, District Leaders and School Teams. The DASL-NASSP School Leaders Academy using design thinking methodology as a framework for school improvement and leading change.


The National Policy Board for Educational Administration (NPBEA) is a national alliance of major membership organizations committed to the advancement of school and school-system leadership. Member organizations represent the educational administration profession and collaborate to improve the preparation and practice of educational leaders at all levels. Member organizations include: the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership (ICPEL)the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the American Association for School Administrators (AASA), and the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). The mission of NPBEA is to lead standards-based and research-informed policy, preparation, and practice for school and school system leaders. DASL Director, Dr. Jackie Wilson, is the Executive Director of NPBEA, where she works with the national organizations to: promote the ongoing development and support of the adoption, adaptation and use of leadership standards; identify and promote research-based and high-leverage practices that result in equity and excellence in schools; and influence the recruitment, development and retention of a diverse and excellent pipeline of school leaders.
