Specialists:

Kim Wheedleton has taught public school in grades K-8 for over 9 years, with extensive experience in grades 1-3, in both urban and suburban/rural settings. She is elementary certified in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, with all of her graduate work and professional study focused on literacy instruction. As a teacher and as a literacy specialist, Kim’s focus is on tapping into and supporting each student’s potential to learn, to grow, and to succeed. She knows that students reach their fullest educational and developmental potential when teachers, parents, students, instructional coaches, and administrators work together at all levels toward common goals.
Her main area of interest is in providing young students with as much literacy support as possible, to prevent the bumps in the path that can trip up fledgling readers. Through her work with PDCE, Kim collaborates with teachers, coaches, and administrators, helping them to implement solid, up-to- date, research-based, effective literacy instruction tailored to the specific, diverse needs of the school, the teachers, and their students.
